RISE aims to elevate learning, bringing everyone into aligned, elevated educational experiences.
Occlusion plays a crucial role in nearly every patient case, yet many dentists feel less confident in this area compared to other aspects of dentistry. This course will help you gain clarity and confidence by addressing the common misconception that bad bites cause bad joints. In reality, it is often bad joints that lead to malocclusions. Understanding both the jaw joints (the back end of the system) and the teeth (the front end) is key to successfully treating occlusal, orthodontic, restorative, orthognathic, and airway patients.
By developing a deeper understanding of occlusion and temporomandibular joint concepts, you’ll enhance your treatment planning, increase case acceptance, and attract new patients to your practice. This two-day course will present a combination of clinical and managerial perspectives, utilizing real-world cases, interactive lectures, discussions, and hands-on learning. You’ll leave with practical knowledge that you can immediately apply to your practice. This program will not only improve your confidence in occlusion but also provide you with the tools to deliver more comprehensive, patient-centered care. Join us to unlock the secrets of jaw joints and elevate your practice!

Upon completion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Understand different occlusal philosophies and identify which approaches work best in your practice.
- Recognize and diagnose occlusal issues and communicate these problems to patients in an understandable way.
- Design effective occlusion strategies for various restorative case types.
- Determine when and how to equilibrate, and when equilibration is not necessary.
- Understand different splint designs and what to expect from splint therapy.
- Identify when to consider imaging the temporomandibular joint to gain a better understanding of occlusion.
