2013 Coordinators Conference

I’m on my way to Dallas and looking forward to spending the next few days with 80 coordinators from around the country. We have an amazing program planned for them this year to provide tools to help them deliver the best possible study club education to all the members in the network.

In many ways, the Seattle Study Club® staff members are coordinators for all of the clubs around the world. This week, they will be sharing many of the secrets they’ve learned along the way. Classes will include detailed information on how to get the most out of contracts, how to infuse the local study club with a unique culture, collecting and integrating information from evaluations, handling unexpected emergencies and using Excel to organize study club information. Secrets to facilitating effective meetings, budgeting and building successful programs will also be shared.

Gary Zelesky will be speaking to the group on how to maintain passion year after year. Kirk Behrendt is going to share the results of his latest research from his “in the trenches” experience with clubs on how best to manage time as a coordinator and dental team member. Dr. Brian Schroder will be talking about the benefits of practicing interdisciplinary dentistry, and Joy Millis is going to talk about how to revive spirit. We have a full schedule for two-and-a-half days!

These remarkable individuals fill a complicated role that can sometimes go un-noticed. Next time you see your coordinator, thank them for taking care of all these behind-the-scene details so that you, as a study club member, can simply show up and enjoy the education.
